Abstract

The workload is an estimation of the time the student typically needs to complete all learning activities such as lectures, seminars, projects, practical work, work placement, exams and individual study required to achieve the specified learning outcomes in formal learning environments. This study aimed to estimate the time that the students in the college of Health and Medical Technology need to accomplish all required activities during the semester. An online questionnaire submitted to all students. 232 out of 309 students (75.08%) completed the questionnaire successfully. Results showed that the mean of the daily contact hours and associated SD was (4.36 ±0.90) hours while the mean of daily non-contact hours and associated SD was (5.30±2.15) hours. The mean of hours that the student spent for preparation a seminar was (3.60 ± 1.63 SD) hours, a report (2.25 ±1.31SD) hours, an assignment (1.5± 0.93SD) hours, and for a quiz (2.36± 1.12SD) hours. 55.6% of the students spent more than 11 hours for preparation of the final exam for each subject. About 71.5% of the students either agree or strongly agree that the time allocate for theoretical sessions was enough while about 54.7% of them either agree or strongly agree that the time allocate for practical sessions was enough. conclusions. The total time for the average student in the college near to reach the minimum of suggested workload hours.
