Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the main changes that occur in the higher education system in Kurdistan Region-Iraq, and the role of Bologna process on the reform in higher education sector. This paper also studies the main mechanisms for implementing the principles of Bologna process and changing the higher education system in order to step towards a more modernized model for higher education sector in Kurdistan Region. It discusses the main practical issues that are related to the procedure for implementing Bologna process, and solving the difficulties that faces the implementation of this new system. The main goal is changing towards a new system for obtaining academic degrees in Kurdistan Region.
